Default Riding Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities

Hi!
I am a recreation therapist who currently works with a special recreation association. I think that it is great that the park district has made opportunities for kids with disabilities to go horseback riding. I am not sure if you all know that it is possible for kids who uses wheelchairs to ride horses and partake of these types of activities. Our special recreation association makes it possible. Each child gets at least one spotter/assistant to walk beside them and the horse. Some of the kids might need other types of support similar to the equipment that is used for rock climbing to help them. I know that Easter Seals also provides this type of service at their camps as well.

I would like to hear some experiences that others have with this too.
