I would not think so. A good maount of people use gas and I have yet to see any complaints. I would ask the Vet when you go next time.

Gas heated homes pose no threat to birds,this I can assure every one.As one of my friends is having a set of birds and they remain very comfortable in her gas heated house.

If everything is working well, it should pose no threat. Obviously if there is a gas leak the bird will be in danger, but then again so will the other occupants.
