ceiling fans, hot surfaces such as heaters and stoves, open windows and doors, aerosol sprays, chemicals/pesticides, and certain kinds of applicants as well as lubricants are some of the major dangers for birds .
Also you should never let a bird out of the cage unattended cause then may do some thing stupid like swallow some thing .

Well if you have fans running all the time or even some of the time I would be concerned with the bird being outside its cage. I can understand letting out once in a while but not for hours a day. How do you get them back in.

Yes all this is very alarming,you have to have the bird in the cage to avoid any kind of mishappening.These gagdets can prove seriously fatal,in regard to the poor little birds.
