Default Best way to punish a cat

What is the best way to punish a cat for doing something wrong? I try a spray bottle of watter but it doesn't seem to be effective.

Sometimes tough love is hard, i have found a rolled up piece of paper often works. Like the same effects that a newspaper has on a dog. But I just a wimp about it.

When my cats are doing something wrong, I can generally get them to stop with just a sharp, "No!" or a clap of my hands. Once in awhile I have to physically remove them from a situation and put them in another room for awhile.

Giving cats time out is ok too. I see nothing wrong with that. They learn more than people give them credit for and taking the time to teach them is a responsibility of all owners.

A big NO is enough for my cat most of the times when it requires a little to be told not to do a certain thing.Sometimes little harsh punishments for it,spanking or sprinkling of water!!!

hi there
i think the way to punish your pets should be very mild and effective as well.i feel they can be punished by leaving them alone in a room for sometime.
