Default Farm cats

I have a friend who lives on a farm, and there are cats all over. The problem is that these cats often get sick or ran over, and it is very difficult for me to see this happening. I know this is considered normal for farm cats, but it really bothers me. Am I overreacting?

Well that is similar to a neighbor that I have. He has many cats that never leave his house. When the cats are in the window you can see that some of them are sick. I have told the son when he comes but he does not seem to be that interested in it.
