Default Does your cat know his name?

It is hard to teach a cat respond to his name. But I think if you want to teach your cat to respond to his name, he needs to associate it with positive things. Like when your cat is across the room and responds to the sound of his name by coming to you, reward him with petting, praise, or a treat.

Talking Cats & their names

As stated before, I have many cats & everyone of them know their name. I do not call them by saying, "here kitty, kitty" as most people do. I have always used their names & they each respond to their own name. I know that may sound a little strange but it is true.

My Cats know their names as well. Actually, my oldest Cat knew his name up until he was 20, after that he seemed a bit clueless

My cats all know their names, even Gigi who is just barely 3 months now has known her name for awhile. I taught them by giving treats while calling their name, doesn't take long for them to catch on!

I know my youngest cat knows her name. But lately we've been calling her "kitty" and she responds better to kitty than to Harmonia, her name. Maybe she thinks her name has changed

Well, got a kitten a few weeks ago. He still got a few problems with listening to his name. But I think he will learn in time. Not really that hard to learn a little kitten its name.

My kitty figured her name was lilly since I would stare at her when i yelled at her for clawing the couch and then I would get closer repeating her name, hehe. I love her. Bye the way those soft paw work like a charm
