Question Addicted to plastic

We have a 4yr old spayed, indoor cat who goes out of her way to find plastic and eat it!
She has always been this way - we got her at 4 mos. old. Her favorite is the plastic from grocery shopping bags: she hears us crinkle them to put them away and she comes running!
Yes - we know it's not healthy for her! We hide all plastic from her reach! We can't even have the bags hanging from waste baskets!
Does anyone have a clue as to why she's got this weird behavior? The vet can't figure it out, since she's healthy.

That is strange!

Lindsey's roomate's cat "Mac" also likes shopping bags. She'll tear bits off, but mostly sit near a bag for hours just licking it all over. She must like the taste of it.

Default Plastic eater

I am "owned" by several cats & 3 of them also love to chew on plastic bags. Joey, my big male cat, (he weighs 25 pounds), also chews on cellaphane that is wrapped around things like gift baskets. I have to hide all plastic things from him. My vet said that he thinks it feels good on their gums. I know that sounds crazy but who knows?

It is with all cats, your experiences and mine state this that cats are very fond of plastic bags, actually they start with licking but end up chewing them up.!!!!
