My cat is young, almost 4 years, and she is a bit overweight but not enough for a lot of concern, only a pound or two. She will eat her food (rather quickly) and then vomit a few minutes later. WE HAVE TAKEN HER TO THE VET ALREADY. We have tried switching foods, which only makes the problem worse, and we have moved her food bowl to quieter spaces. We have also switched to giving her only half a bowl in the morning and half in the evening, which has helped a bit, but she still vomits about once a week. Any suggestions? (remember, we ALREADY TOOK HER TO THE VET, and that hasn't helped.)
Well, I did change her food for her and that made it worse, and she completely refuses to eat anything that isn't cat food, so eating something else obviously isn't the problem. I'll try the other suggestions though, thank you!

Some vets suck. Even though they are nice people. Try a second vet. Cuz I seriously doubt that your cat has bulimia. Other thought: is it possible that she's eating something else during the day that goes down quite unobtrusively but that is causing her to get sick? Like some chemical liquid that's leaking out in the laundry area or something? Or perhaps it's just a viral thing and she keeps reinfecting herself through her food bowl or her cat toys -- you say you tried different foods, but have you changed out her bowl and other things? Or there are a lot of odd cat vomit stories out there i Google searched on"already been to the vet" cat vomit

Have you tried changing her diet? Does she have any food allergies? I dont have cats but my dogs did that. MY first dog did that because he had a food allergy. My second dog we found out that when we raised her food bowl off the ground like on a food pedestal just high enough for her to eat to where she doesnt have to lean over to far to the ground to eat the food. this helped becaue if you ever tried eating like they do and lean over really low on the food and try to swollow its kind of hard. The food doesnt get digested correctly. When you use a spoon to bring the food up to your mouth you make a clear passage for the food to go down your throat. I dont know if this makes sense to you but you might try a food riser or pedestal.

There is a million reasons that your cat could be vomiting. I would have to ask does she vomit her food undigested? If she is vomiting right away after eating. She may not be actually vomiting she may be regurgitating. Cats may regurgitate if they have a condition called megaesophagus meaning that your cat has an enlarged esophagus and is unable to swallow food correctly. I doubt that is the case because she only vomits once a week. but based on the info in your question it seems that your cat eating behavior is the major reason for her vomiting. If you cats vomiting gets worse there are other diagnostic test that can be performed to find out if their is a medical reason. Again the medical reasons can be endless. My advice is as long as you cat is only vomiting once a week then she should be okay if not and you really want an answer you have an option of taking your cat to a Board certified Internal Medicine Veterinarian they have more experience then your current veterinarian. And they may have better suggestions for you. Hope that helps

He may have an intestinal problem. Does he also have problems in the litterbox. He may be blocked and might need surgery. So definitely take him to another vet.

hi i think that she has got some sort of infection and you should try to fed her some liquid food like milk and you should surely contact some good vet.
