That can be a big problem. But here is something you might want to try. Put your dry food in a microwave safe dish add some water and some canned dog food, microwave it (1 minute)and mix it well. Then allow to cool and serve, you can also try the smaller puppy foods as well.

My vet always told me not to give my dogs the same food as us because it is extra unhealthy. Try giving it to him gradualy maybe mixing it with the dog food but I honestly don't think a dog would starve himself I mean he has survival instincts like all of us.

Yeah I think you may want to try different brands or start mixing the food and gently ease into just having the dog food. It can be alright for the dog but he could also develop things such as worms or have diarrhea from some of the things you can feed it.

Mixing the cooked food with dog food will help your dog get familiar with the taste of the dog food. And after doing this, try to let him eat plain dog food again.
