I actually do find it soothing. I have a 20 gallon tank, and although no fish at the moment (they all died off a little while ago) it was definitely nice to have. It also acts as a humidifier as well!

I was thinking of getting some tropical fish, but haven't decided yet. It would be great to have, but they do cost a lot and I don't know if I'd be able to take care of them well enough so that they live!

I also used to have two giant aquariums, one was filled with Japanese carps and the other was for different types of goldfish. I really had a hard time maintaining the goldfish because they are very sensitive and can get sick easily if you don't change water often.

A few years ago I had 13 gold fish in a really big tank...I liked watching them. But I decided that I would put them in a little lake at the bottom of the garden and they looked very happy down there. Unfortenetly, a Heron ate them all T__T.

Sad to heard about it but you should keep them in big tank because they are very safe in big tanks. I am sure you would buy some more gold Fish.

I baught few gold fish yesterday for my new and big tank.

When I had fish I started with a 5 gallon tank. I really enjoyed that one, but as my fish got bigger (I can't remember what they were called, but they look like little catfish), they needed a bigger tank...so I bought a 45 gallon tank. Boy, was that a mistake! The fish weren't as much fun to watch anymore and mostly hid. Too bad I didn't upgrade to half that size! But hindsight is always 20/20, isn't it?

Yes, 5 gallon is great when you have little fish. Mine were only a little over an inch when I bought them, but after a few months were about 5 inches long. It just seemed they were too crowded in there. I wish I had upgraded to a 20 gallon though.
