I have a 22 year old mare that weaves in her stall. She has been intermittently lame, looks to be her right front, for two months. I have had the vet out twice and both times my mare tested sound. Both times I have asked for x-rays and the vet said we should wait until she is testing lame to do the x-rays. At $105 per visit that gets expensive. Should I switch vets?

Yes. I would. If that injury gets worse from her standing on it, you could have bigger issues. At least if you get an x-ray you might be able to make a decision as to sling her up for a while to get the problem taken care of. She is 22 though so dont be surprised at the length of recovery.

Your mare must have shown some improvement.It is must to have to a second opinion.The 22 old mare will take a little longer time to recover,but your care and concern is going to do the magic.
