...have had cat to 5 vets with 5 reasons, problem persists? the 5 reasons were, stress, possibly fleas, but none found, cancer, allergy, obssesive compulsive disorder,cat now wears cone, I am slowly going crazy

It is a food allergy.
My cat has it and does the same thing when he eats:
milk
chicken
lamb
rice
fish
beef
canned cat food
dry cat food
My cat can only eat Hill's Prescription Diet z/D Low Allergan and water to drink. It is the dry food. They make this in canned food but he is allergic to it.
The food allergy in cats is extremely common.

I get this dry food at his vet's office. As long as he eats only it and nothing else he is fine.
If he has a tiny bite of anything else he itches and pulls his fur out.
You can test it yourself by feeding your cat this food for a while and keeping him away from even a bite of anyting else. It will take about 3 months to get the other foods he was eating out of his system and for the allergy to calm down once he is on this new food. It is very healthy food adn his coat is great on it and he is now very healty.
Please try this as I am sure this is what he has.

My cat had pulled all his fur out all over his body and his tale and all over his stomach and where ever he could reach. It is a food allergy and it makes them miserable.
And it is an allergy to just about every food there is except this one I mentioned.

Did your vet test for mange mites? In dogs they give a medication called ivermectin, not sure if you can treat a cat with it. Also has your vet tried steriods? If so, and it worked, it probably is an allergy, to what is anybodys guess but low doses of steriods can be given over long periods without too many bad side effects. Good luck

If it was cancer he would have done further testing.

Fleas normally show up.. like flea dirt etc even if you canot find the flea. Plus your cat would have wounds from getting annoyed.

Stress and obsessive compulsive disorder are harder to break... find a behaviour consultant.. there are plenty aro8und these days.

Mange is the only other one that is a worry... but your vet would have definately given you treatments for that.

Steriod injections will help for the flea or any form of allergies. Best thing is to gradually intergrate and take different food stuffs away to see if it has any reactions to not eating Chicken, or say milk... elimination process!

is your cat pulling out fur in specific places? Sometimes female will pull fur from around nipples to feed kittens, is she pregnant?
